You end up joining a team writing a strategy for inside bureaucrats. The strategy is to urge them to not quit but to slow down the most destructive political orders. “Your oath is to the Constitution, not to a president.”

It feels good to see the range of actors getting geared up. It’s certainly a lot more than last time Trump was president. But inside your heart, you do worry it won’t be enough.
