You sense you should be doing something. But what can you do?

You sit at home and cry. You feel all the many, many things that have been lost. The many people whose lives are going to be severely disrupted — and lost.

As you flow deep into your feelings, you find it eases your mind to know that some things have already been lost — but other things haven’t. The future remains largely unwritten. From ashes, beautiful things can grow. You aren’t more hopeful, but you are more accepting and prepared to find out what you can do to help. You realize you have a false choice: either be engulfed in despair or focus on “self-care” that has you merely doing yoga. You pick neither — instead you choose to use the tears for healing and to engage with others in resistance.
